Pablo Ruiz Picasso (1881-1973) was a Spanish painter, draughtsman, sculptor, and engraver who spent most of his life in France. He revolutionized painting in 1907 and initiated Cubism with Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, but this multifaceted artist, who continued to produce works until his death, cannot be reduced to a single artistic movement.
